
Kagawa Nutrition UniversityDepartment of Applied NutritionThis department focuses on the training of nutrition specialists capable of utilizing their acquired skills in encouraging health for the prevention of disease and assistance in recovery from illness. In today's society, increasing emphasis is being placed on this idea of primary prevention. As the largest training facility in Japan for national registered dietitians1, this department has the responsibility of producing graduates capable of responding to the increasingly complex needs of our age. *1 As of 2004, the university has trained more than 5,000 dietitians. Structure of the CurriculumThe national registered dietitian's course consists of a curriculum centering on two groups of subjects - a introductory courses and technical and advanced courses. In addition, students are required to select subjects from the Liberal Arts.
