Increasing medical costs represent a very serious social and political issue, and emphasis is now being placed on the primary prevention of diseases. The educational goal for the Undergraduate School of Nutrition Sciences at Kagawa Nutrition University is to provide individuals with the knowledge and ability needed to meet the social demands for the primary prevention of diseases. University curricula comprises three disciplines: the Department of Applied Nutrition(registered dietitians), Department of Health and Nutrition(Division of Nutrition Sciences for Medical technicians and home economics teachers, and Division of Health and School Nursing for School nurses), and Department of Food Culture and Nutrition(Food-culture specialists). The school also has an Evening Department of Health and Nutrition. Graduates now work in a wide variety of health-related fields, including hospitals, local governments, schools, businesses, and the food and service industries. |
